Planning
- Location - farmed close to the market it is intended for (to minimize transportation).
- Site - suitable location and advantageous site parameters - must facilitate an economical landbased RAS production.
- Production input - farmed in a location with access to sustainable sources of water, energy, and feed.
- Production plan based on relevant growth models and RAS experience figures.
- Farmed in buildings and systems leaving a minimal land footprint.
- Design and choice of equipment components with a focus on durability and low energy consumption.
Personnel
- Availability and hiring of dedicated staff and experienced management team. RAS Technology & Production
- Design and dimension of individual components (and plant sections) for optimal growth and minimal stress for the fish.
- Use of efficient and proven recirculating water treatment processes (for maintaining an optimal water quality).
- Feeding with a quality RAS feed and a focus on minimizing any feed waste.
- Applying effluent water treatment technology and use of bioremediation (in cooperation with partners).
